GRANDMA ROSE TO ANGEL BRITTANY SYFERT April 23, 2009

GOD KNOWS HOW MUCH I MISS YOU,
NEVER SHALL YOUR MEMORY FADE.
LOVING THOUGHT SHALL EVER WANDER.
TO THE SPOT WHERE YOU ARE LAID.
THOUGH ABSENT YOU ARE EVER NEAR.
STILL MISSED AND LOVED,ALWAYS DEAR.

CATHY~MOM OF DAVID GIRAUD♫♫ THINKING OF YOU♥♥ April 18, 2009

"How long will the pain last?"
a broken hearted mourner asked me.
I have to answer truthfully.
We never quite forget.
No matter how many years pass, we remember.
The loss of a loved one is like a major operation.
Part of us is removed, and we have a scar for the rest of our lives.
As years go by, we manage.
There are things to do, people to care for, tasks that call for full attention.
But the pain is still there, not far below the surface.
We see a face that looks familiar, hear a voice that echoes, see a photograph
in someone's album, see a landscape that once we saw together, and it seems
as though a knife were in the wound again. But not so painfully.
And mixed with joy, too. Because remembering a happy time is not all sorrow,
it brings back happiness with it.
How long will the pain last?
All the rest of your life. But the thing to remember is that not only
the pain will last, but the blessed memories as well.
Tears are proof of love. The more love, the more tears.
If this be true, then how could we ever ask that the pain cease altogether.
For then the memory of love would go with it.
The pain of grief is the price we pay for love."

I cannot ease your aching heart,
Nor take your pain away,
But let me stay and take your hand
And walk with you today.
I'll listen when you need to talk,
I'll wipe away your tears.
I'll share your worries when they come,
I'll help you face your fears.
I'm here and I will stand by you
on each hill you have to climb
So take my hand, let's face the world
And live just one day at a time.
You're not alone for I'm still here,
I'll go that extra mile
And when your grief is easier,
I'll help you learn to smile.

"If I could catch a rainbow,
I would do it just for you,
And share with you its beauty,
The days you're feeling blue.
If I could build a mountain,
You could call your very own.
A place to find serenity,
A place to be alone.
If I could take your troubles,
I would toss them in the sea.
But all these things I'm finding,
Are impossible for me.
I cannot build a mountain,
Or catch a rainbow fair,
But let me be what I know best,
A friend that's always there! "

Easter Prayer
God our Father,
by raising Christ your Son
you conquered the power of death
and opened for us the way to eternal life.
Let our celebration today raise us up
and renew our lives by the Spirit that is within us.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Tommy, Jr. A Poem For You September 11, 2007

Joey

To all of us you are an inspiration,

The way that you lived, loved, and laughed,

It was truly an admiration.

You’ve comforted us now in our times of need.

I can feel you there now,

My uncertainties are freed.

You were a Husband,

You were a Father,

You were an Uncle,

You were a Brother,

You were a friend to many,

Unlike any other.

I can speak for us all,

I will say this one thing,

You are simply irreplaceable,

You were truly a King!

I love you Uncle Joey.

Joe and I grew up together in the South Bronx on St. Ann's Ave & 139th Street and lived across the street from each other....yeah, we were  some of the block hellions and we were a group that hung close together. We Were Joey, Tito Pavon, Lenny Howell, Tommy Kiernan, Charlie Pilkington, Johnny Budd, Andy Pometti, Nutsy(Mickey Collins) and others I can't put my finger on right at this moment but with time & thought  I will bring it together. Tito & I sang as part of a Vocal Group Known as the Cashmeres in the Mid to late 50's & as time went by and we all left the old neighborhood  some of us went into the service and lost contact with each other. But we also made some contact in our later years and had a small reunion in a beer garden in the east tremont section of the Bronx in the summer of '90 or '91 and Charlie, Joe & I had Dinner together that evening,We Kind of rehashed old times and promised to at least exchange Christmas cards and call once in a while.
Then you guys moved to Delaware and I Only got to see Joe once or twice when I had four way heart bypass in late August of 2000 at Christiana Hospital (Delaware) I was greatful to see  Joe who knew how to cheer a person up , I'll always remember that and we did chat a few times on the phone to try to keep in touch. After you moved back to NY we also got to chat a few times over the years.
Again my deepest thoughts of condolences to you and your family at this time of sorrow and I know that Joe is watching over all of you and He is probably telling stories about all of us to God & keeping him informed as one of his Angels.  keep in touch and may God Bless, Len Howell

You made a lot of people happy with your sense of humor and warmth. You'll be missed by a loving family and great friends.
Kathy Barton One of a Kind April 9, 2007

Uncle Joe was a very special uncle to me.  He always managed to make me feel extra special and loved.  His humor helped us all put life's challenges in perspective and enjoy the moment.  Uncle Joe was so very dear to me and I know he will be so terribly missed by Aunt Gerry, Marilyn and all our family.  I want to send my condolences to you and let you know I am praying that you find peace in your heart knowing that Uncle Joe is now in Heaven and we will be with him again one day.  He will never be forgotten by any of us and has touched each of us in a very special way to help encourage us all to make the world a better place by spreading love like he always did. What a great example he was to me.   With love - Kathy
