Joey

To all of us you are an inspiration,

The way that you lived, loved, and laughed,

It was truly an admiration.

You’ve comforted us now in our times of need.

I can feel you there now,

My uncertainties are freed.

You were a Husband,

You were a Father,

You were an Uncle,

You were a Brother,

You were a friend to many,

Unlike any other.

I can speak for us all,

I will say this one thing,

You are simply irreplaceable,

You were truly a King!

I love you Uncle Joey.

A special song

One More Day sung by Diamond Rio

Last night I had a crazy dream
A wish was granted just for me
It could be for anything
I didn't ask for money
Or a mansion in Malibu
I simply wished, for one more day with you

One more day
One more time
One more sunset, maybe I'd be satisfied
But then again
I know what it would do
Leave me wishing still, for one more day with you

One more day....

First thing I'd do, is pray for time to crawl
Then I'd unplug the telephone
And keep the TV off
I'd hold you every second
Say a million I love you's
That's what I'd do, with one more day with you

One more day
One more time
One more sunset, maybe I'd be satisfied
But then again
I know what it would do
Leave me wishing still, for one more day with you

One more day
One more time
One more sunset, maybe I'd be satisfied
But then again
I know what it would do
Leave me wishing still, for one more day

Leave me wishing still, for one more day
Leave me wishing still, for one more day with you

One more day, one more day.......

Tommy dedicated his NYC Marathon run to Joe.
Reunion 7/14/07
A beautiful day, sun shining and fun had by all.  We all knew Joe made sure the weather was perfect.  Tommy Baker started the day arriving wearing Joe's favorite summer hat.  It was quite a site.

My Heart Will Go On By Celine Dion

http://listen.grooveshark.com/song/My_Heart_Will_Go_On/771420

Everynight in my dreams, I see you, I feel you
That is how I know you go on
Far across the distance and spaces between us
You have come to show you go on

Near, far, where ever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more, you opened the door
And you're here in my heart and
My heart will go on and on

Love can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime
And never let go til we're gone
Love was when I loved you
One true time, I hold to
In my life will always go on

Near, far, where ever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more, you opened the door
And you're here in my heart and
My heart will go on and on

You're here, there's nothing I fear
And I know that my heart will go on
We'll stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart and
My heart will go on and on

The Dance  By Garth Brooks
http://listen.grooveshark.com/song/The_Dance/256397

Lookin' back on the memories of
the dance we shared beneath the stars above.
For a moment, all the world was right.
How could I've known that you'd ever say 'good bye?'

And now, I'm glad I didn't know the way it all would end
the way it all would go.
And our lives are better left to chance.
I could have missed the pain, but I'd've had to miss the dance.

Holdin' you, I've held everything.
For a moment, wasn't I the king?
But if I'd only known how the king would fall,
Hey, who's to say, you know, I might have changed it all.

And now, I'm glad I didn't know the way it all would end
the way it all would go.
And our lives are better left to chance.
I could have missed the pain, but I'd've had to miss the dance.

Yes, my life is better left to chance.
I could have missed the pain, but I'd've had to miss the dance.

Joe loved his oldies but

few knew he also liked songs by John Denver, Barry Manilow and Neil Diamond, too.  And of course, Elvis.  Some of Joe's favorites were....

Len Howell
Joe and I grew up together in the South Bronx on St. Ann's Ave & 139th Street and lived across the street from each other....yeah, we were  some of the block hellions and we were a group that hung close together. We Were Joey, Tito Pavon, Lenny Howell, Tommy Kiernan, Charlie Pilkington, Johnny Budd, Andy Pometti, Nutsy(Mickey Collins) and others I can't put my finger on right at this moment but with time & thought  I will bring it together. Tito & I sang as part of a Vocal Group Known as the Cashmeres in the Mid to late 50's & as time went by and we all left the old neighborhood  some of us went into the service and lost contact with each other. But we also made some contact in our later years and had a small reunion in a beer garden in the east tremont section of the Bronx in the summer of '90 or '91 and Charlie, Joe & I had Dinner together that evening,We Kind of rehashed old times and promised to at least exchange Christmas cards and call once in a while.
Then you guys moved to Delaware and I Only got to see Joe once or twice when I had four way heart bypass in late August of 2000 at Christiana Hospital (Delaware) I was greatful to see  Joe who knew how to cheer a person up , I'll always remember that and we did chat a few times on the phone to try to keep in touch. After you moved back to NY we also got to chat a few times over the years.
Again my deepest thoughts of condolences to you and your family at this time of sorrow and I know that Joe is watching over all of you and He is probably telling stories about all of us to God & keeping him informed as one of his Angels.  keep in touch and may God Bless, Len Howell
If Tomorrow Never Comes video & lyrics

If Tomorrow Never Comes

http://listen.grooveshark.com/song/If_Tomorrow_Never_Comes/432215

(sung by Garth Brooks)

Sometimes late at night
I lie awake and watch her sleeping
She's lost in peaceful dreams
So I turn out the lights and lay there in the dark
And the thought crosses my mind
If I never wake up in the morning
Would she ever doubt the way I feel
About her in my heart

If tomorrow never comes
Will she know how much I loved her
Did I try in every way to show her every day
That she's my only one

And if my time on earth were through
And she must face the world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past
Gonna be enough to last
If tomorrow never comes

'Cause I've lost loved ones in my life
Who never knew how much I loved them
Now I live with the regret
That my true feelings for them never were revealed
So I made a promise to myself
To say each day how much she means to me
And avoid that circumstance
Where theres no second chance to tell her how I feel

'Cause if tomorrow never comes
Will she know how much I loved her
Did I try in every way to show her every day
That she's my only one

And if my time on earth were through
And she must face the world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past
Gonna be enough to last
If tomorrow never comes

So tell that someone that you love
Just what you're thinking of
If tomorrow never comes

Happy 65th Birthday!

On your special day! May 2nd

Tom Docherty Jr.

From the early days to the end, there was always the same theme...laughter.  I'm quite certain upstairs, even now, there are jokes being told and heard with Uncle Joe orchestrating it all...

I remember the photo at the funeral home of the three amigos (Dad, Uncle John, and Uncle Joe) holding real guns and getting ready to hunt down their brethren outlaw "Blitzy" (no pun intended)...later on that evening/morning, after they successfully arrested their outlaw, they decided to play a little baseball in the kitchen, (another photo gleefully viewed).  What the photo didn't show was the three frames later...the hole in the dining room glass after Uncle Joe took Uncle John down-town-Leroy-Brown with a crushed tennis ball...Classic!!!

I love and miss you already; more than you'll ever know.  I do know one thing, when it's time for me to go, I can look forward to you finishing some of your really good stories that you would purposely stop toward the end and look at me and say..."Tommy, I'll tell you the rest when you get older..."  : )

Love you forever,

Tommy, Jr.

John J. Fenton Sr.

Joe was a great friend and brother-in-law to me.We had many laughs in the ye-old tavern. With all the caracters that hang out there. It was not one day pass that we didn't have a laugh. The best times with Joe was watching the honeymooners together,we laugh so hard tears would come down our face.So I was glad I was in Joe's life.

Joe's famous sayings " Hold the phone"  "Call A cop"   "Aspeth"

     and "A way we go"

                                    Thanks for the memories

                                                        Love you Joe,Brother-in-law & Friend

                                                                          John

John J Fenton Jr
I will always remember Uncle Joe's affectionate personality, the Uncle who would always hug you, and not let go until he was done telling you a story. He was a Great Guy! I'll miss his Bar room sense of style. When I hung out with him at gatherings he could make you feel as if you were a part of his era. I guy worth tattooing on your body, but I wont. Love ya Uncle Joe. "Oh My God"
